The Resilient Future Forests Laboratory (RFFL) is a global network of long-term, operational-scale plots that demonstrate forests managed for resilience and adaptation to change. The RFFL Network covers large gradients of climatic and socio-economic conditions.

The RFFL approach is conceptually simple: compare current (Do-Nothing and Business-As-Usual) with Innovative Methods in large, operationally established plots that have an underlying experimental design.

This RFFL Guide provides guidance on establishing and maintaining RFFL Field Plots, collecting data, and sharing results. This Guide is intended primarily for anyone directly involved in proposing and establishing an RFFL Location. Scientists, practitioners, consultants/advisors, and landowners (individuals or organizations responsible for the land on which the RFFL is located) all will benefit from this Guide.
